Current Brisbane Broncos NRL coach Wayne Bennett is involved with the NZ Kiwi Centenary Test Team as a coaching consultant. Acting as a mentor to current head coach Stephen Kearney - the camp suggest confidence is riding high as they prepare to take on the might of Australian Kangaroos in the Centenary Test this Friday.
Kiwi players the likes of Roy Asotasi, David Kidwell and Issac Luke have all wrapped Wayne Bennett big time - saying his down to earth personality and interaction has provided the Kiwis with the belief they need.
Every big star Sonny Bill Williams has said what a huge honour it is to play under Wayne Bennett. Putting NRL Results aside for at least a week, Bennett is involved with the NZ Kiwi Centenary side after earlier this year coaching the All Golds touring side involving mostly Kiwi players but a small contingent of Aussies.
The Centenary Test for 2008 marks 100 years since Rugby League was born and will be played at the SCG this Friday Night. The last meeting between Australia and New Zealand saw the Aussies romp to a 58-0 victory in a horror match for the Kiwi side.
