Well the worlds worst kept secret is finally out, former NRL star Trent Barrett is set to leave the UK Super League Competition and his current club Wigan and re-join the NRL with former cross town rivals the Cronulla Sharks.
Apparently Barrett's wife is home sick and keen to return home and while many in Rugby League circles felt Trent Barrett would get back with St George Illawarra, the classy five eighth or standoff as they say in the UK Super League said he wanted a new start and felt the Sharks were an ideal fit.
Barrett still has plenty to offer and while Cronulla were mindless to release Brett Kimmorley - they do get a strong ball running and playing half in Trent Barrett.
Ricky Stuart has really started to mould this Cronulla team into a gritty unit, his only mistake being to let Brett Kimmorley go - however with some new recruits in Barrett and Anthony Tupou for the 2009 NRL season, their NRL Results and their NRL Table position is set to skyrocket.
The Sharks are currently sitting nicely inside the NRL Top 8 and have a long run of home games to finish the year, so barring a massive disaster they are almost guaranteed a Top 8 finals finish in this 2008 NRL season.
