While many in the NRL community think that the City vs Country Rugby League Concept is on the way out and the crowd was also poor on game night - the game itself was of a high quality ending in a 22-22 draw in 2008.
Several batches of players, put their best foot forward for NSW Origin Selection - in particular Mitchell Pearce and Braith Anasta put in a great showing, considering their forward pack was probably beaten overall by the Country big men - they still had a top shelf game.
Jarryd Hayne the out of sorts Eels - burst back to life and had a strong game to push his chances and Parramatta Team Mate Brett Finch also didn't do anything wrong in a strong performance for his side.
Fortunately their weren't too many injuries from the City vs Country clash and NSW Origin coach Craig Bellamy must now sit down and work out which players he wants for the eventual Blues Squad to face Queensland in the weeks ahead.
The side will need to be good, forget NRL Results - the Qld Origin side boast a new Australian side with one of the best backlines seen in years. NSW will certanily have their work cut out.
