Penrith Panthers NRL Season Looks Horrible

It looks like the 2008 NRL Season will again be an absolute nightmare for the men from the mountains; Penrith spending a bucket of cash to secure Petero Civoniceva for the 2008 season but after a single game against the Brisbane Broncos judging by the NRL Results - the Panthers look like playing the same discipline lacking Rugby League style that would have seen them fly back to Sydney in a sorry state.
I am not sure which airline they flew, but I am sure it was a morbid little flight home. Coach Matt Elliott regardless of his coaching ability or game plans simply needs to get through to his players that penalties and possession (or lack of) will cost them games.
They seemed to clean out the closet a little bit in terms of players, but it looks like they selected the wrong NRL contracts not to renew, booting Peter Wallace and Joel Clinton seems like a real bad mistake now I am sure.
Penrith fans and supporters (not to mention club sponsors and backers) have every right to be very worried and probably disappointed at the first showing - yes, it's only the first game, but it does set a huge tone for the Rugby League season again.
Something that has happened for years, whether it be the ARL, Super League, NRL or the Queensland Cup - starting well, building confidence is key.
Good Luck Chocolate Soldier Boys, you are really going to need it again this year.
