NRL Rule Changes for 2008

March 5th 2008 19:24
NRL Referee
In an effort for more consistent NRL Results, the National Rugby League has introduced a last minute rule change for 2008 - handing Video Referees more power and the ability to look over a stripping incident to confirm if illegal play was involved.

While many support further use of Video Referee analysis, the NRL was concerned that too much time may be taken to look at evidence and a game maybe slowed too much - so a limit of 2 video replays per incident only is allowed.

This looks to be a great step forward for the NRL, maybe they were keen to take some headlines away from the saga's off-field but regardless, it should make matches fairer and stamp out any little illegal strips.
