The Rugby League action in NRL Round 3 has been simply explosive, with some huge NRL Results that have gone against tipsters and experts everywhere.
While the Parramatta Eels defeating the Newcastle Knights in a close golden point affair at Parramatta Stadium - it was the undermanned Brisbane Broncos who smashed the North Queensland Cowboys to send their 50,000 strong crowd into raptures. The upset win came as the Broncos were reeling from injuries to Darren Lockyer and Karmichael Hunt, new halfback Peter Wallace calmly steering the Queenslanders around the park and putting on a show to get them home by a mile. 36-2 the final score.
The speculation around several coaches in the NRL continues to heat up, Graham Murray already gone at the Cowboys after then end of the year and now it seems Neil Henry is set to quit the Canberra Raiders and link with North Queensland for 2009.
Over at the Dragons, Nathan Brown can't escape a second of pressure; St George Illawarra going down poorly to the Canberra Raiders after having a hot lead. Mark Gasnier amazingly only touching the ball 12 times and 7 of those touches were from dummy half.
Up at Skilled Park, Robina - the Titans got another home win to fend off the gritty Cronulla Sharks. Paul Gallen and Anthony Laffranchi coming together in a huge head clash and then Gallen getting in trouble for giving Laffranchi a facial to get himself in strife.
Mat Rogers was the pick for the Titans, with Preston Campbell in the same mould - both lifting in attack to give their side some punch.
The other huge result in NRL Round 3 2008, was the Sydney Roosters getting home over the Melbourne Storm. Mitchell Pearce, Braith Anasta, David Shillington and Anthony Minichiello having good games to get their team home in a low scoring affair.
The Storm under coach Bellamy look a little off the pace in 2008, their halves in Cooper Cronk and this week Matt Geyer look a little rehersed and Greg Inglis returned but looks heavy and a touch off the pace.
It's all happening, stay tuned for the Grubbers NRL Power Rankings over at www.NRLnews.com, live every Tuesday after each round. The popularity of the Power Rankings obviously growing, Sydney based newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald copying the popular format coined by NRL News in 2007.
