Parramatta Eels halfback Tim Smith is set to be under even more pressure now, as the popular half back continues to take the blame for the Eels poor form in the past fortnight. The Eels were enjoying much better NRL Results and percentages while Smith was injured and new sensational Feliti Mateo was in the five eighth role.
Also hurting Tim Smith is the top form of NRL pivot and team mate Brett Finch, so good is the former Roosters and Raider - that he is set to get an unlikely State of Origin birth when the NSW side is announced in the weeks ahead.
But Tim Smith shouldn't cop all the blame, you don't suddenly become a bad player overnight. Smith needs time to get back into the role and playing behind a beaten forward pack is always hard. The Eels need more thrust and also need to slow down the opposing ruck speed, as they are retreating too quickly and thus leaking points.
They face the Manly Sea Eagles, who are also out of sorts and injured after a horror night in melbourne. Can the Parramatta Eels bounce back and will Tim Smith survive another week?
