NRL Judiciary outlaws Striking

As the NRL judiciary continues to come down hard on striking, is the game of NRL Rugby League at risk of becoming too much like the AFL, where arguing players actually chest each other as they are unable to strike due to heavy penalties.
Such an embarrassing situation the AFL is the laughing stock of Australian Sport. The NRL needs to take a good look at this predicament and ensure the same thing doesn't happen to 'The Greatest Game of All'
This most recent event where Michael Weyman from the Canberra Raiders took a big swing at Daniel Conn from the Gold Coast Titans - cleaning up up and cutting him badly, many felt the ugly aftermath certainly added to the fine that Weman copped.
Already sent off, Weyman paid a heavy price - but in addition the NRL judiciary slapped him with a 5 week ban for the punch and further 1 week for another incident.
Now the Canberra Raiders lost their man from the field, so it was an immediate penalty and their NRL Results will now be affected as they lose Weyman for many weeks on end.
So while we want to cut out the king-hits and dirty stuff, let's not go overboard and ruin the tough competition between grown men in our game. We certainly don't want to end up like the AFL in this situation.
