They have been eerily quiet since the NRL Grand Final disaster in 2007, the Manly Sea Eagles were well beaten and pretty much embarrassed by a classy and well drilled Melbourne Storm side.
Probably hunger was the biggest ingredient for the Storm, having bit the dust only a year before - it was there time to shine.
Now the shoe is on the other foot, Manly have been burnt and are ready to take revenge on the Storm as they feel the bite of hunger this year. They might have lost Monaghan and Burns - but Manly have added L'Estrange and Josh Perry to boost stocks and restake their claims for this year.
Their silence should prove more of a worry to the Storm, the re-match takes place shortly in Gosford before the Storm head to the UK for the World Club Challenge. And fireworks are sure to be on show even at this early stage of the new season.
