Prominent Penrith Panthers man Luke Lewis looks set to turn his back on South Sydney after possibly joining the Rabbitohs for the 2009 NRL season. Even after talks with owner Russell Crowe, Lewis now wishes to remain at the Panthers after initially agreeing to join the Bunnies from 2009.
While many believe the decision from Lewis is due to the problems currently arising at the South Sydney camp, Lewis insists his decision is one based on personal reasons after family problems. The NRL Results and NRL Table position remain a problem for the Souths camp, with so much heat on them in the media and on the field; former boss George Piggins has arrived back on the scene to put the boot in while he can after a year in the wilderness.
High profile boss Peter Holmes a Court has quit his post at the Bunnies as Shane Richardson steps back into the CEO position and former Panthers and Sharks coach John Lang now arrives as a coaching consultant to Jason Taylor to try and assist the struggling club.
