Cowboys ultimately backstab their NRL Coach

Before any NRL Results have come in for the 2008 Rugby League season, the North Queensland Cowboys have told their coach Graham Murray his services won't be needed past this year.
Always a bad sign for any teams performances in the limbo year, the players and staff now know they will ultimately have new boss next year. Results are sure to be hurt and the Cowboys regardless of how ruthless they have been in not renewing Graham Murray's contract, probably could have waited until well into the season before announcing their intentions.
Murray has turned the Cowboys around in their young life. Taking them from cellar dwellers to regular NRL heavyweights in the space of just a few years.
The move seems certainly aimed at securing the services of Broncos coach Wayne Bennett after he quits his post at the Broncos at the end of the season. A simple move north for Bennett, the Cowboys seem hell bent on securing the award winning NRL coach.
The Cowboys either way have a long year ahead, they do possess plenty of playing talent, but injuries and now the thought of a year of limbo might harm their chances in the season which kicks off in a few weeks time.
