The Bulldogs have bounced back in the best way possible beating the fancied South Sydney Rabbitohs in NRL Round 2, 2008 and getting the pressure right away from coach Steve Folkes after a nightmare Round 1 loss to the Parramatta Eels. The final result going the way of the Dogs 25-12 in a hotly contested League game at Homebush.
After trailing early, the Bulldogs found their bigger, slower forwards in Jarrod Hickey and Justin Tsoulos getting carved up by inside balls as Souths ran rings around them to get a handy lead.
The tables turned in the second half, the crowd at ANZ Stadium coming alive as the Bulldogs clicked into gear and started finding space. Winger Matt Utai proving inspirational after playing on with heavy wounds to his sternum. The interchange rule of only 10 subs in 2008 seems to have tipped the game on it's head and both coaches agree things are now very different on the Rugby League field.
How things can change, now Souths are winless after 2 Rounds of the NRL and their coach Jason Taylor would be feeling some heat as he struggles for answers - Souths proving to be Bunnies in attack and not able to score points.
When Issac Luke, Roy Asotasi and David Kidwell were interchanged, Souths looked all at sea and simply couldn't break through.
The Bulldogs will get a much needed confidence boost, with NRL Results finally going their way and with Sonny Bill Williams to come back they could yet prove a Top 8 force in the NRL even without many other big names signed or on contract for the 2008 season and beyond.
