Prominent Cronulla Sharks halfback Brett Kimmorley is set to be traded to the St George Illawarra Dragons, as the two southern clubs look at a potential NRL deal swap mid-season. The Dragons are keen to offload Jason Ryles and the Sharks seem keen on the chance to swap the two big name players.
Kimmorley is said to be keen to stay at the Sharks, but Jason Ryles wants a fresh start and is reported to be happy to start at a new club.
Coach Ricky Stuart has also given his backing to the idea, while he couldn't confirm or deny the talks - Stuart said should it suit club and player he wouldn't stand in the way of the trade. The only concern for the Sharks, is the disruption and the possibility of declining NRL Results - which would be a shame after such a strong start to the year in 2008.
The Sharks face the Wests Tigers in this weekends Anzac Clash and have a chance to keeping their place atop the NRL Ladder.
